Not My 'TYPICAL' Sunday Evening

Experienced MUTE MATH tonight... Another check on the 'Bands to see live' list... Such incredible musicians with extreme amounts of energy.
Some things i took out of the show:
-You can do a handstand on a piano and make it look really cool.
-You can poor water on drum heads and they'll stay in tune.
-You can stand on a base drum supported by a group of fans, jump off and crowd surf. (Has to be fans though)

To conclude, was a great night.

Happy Birthday O'toole.

Don't Look So Suprised

These Sesame Street characters can't believe it either; I'm actually updating my blog.

I have so much to share that i actually don't even know where to begin...

So i'll give some music updates... Here are cliff notes of what's been happening since i've been in Nashville and what's currently going on.

Its been a long 4 years in TN, and it hasn't been what i expected, to say the least. It's like when you accidently take a sip of someone else's drink and you make that face. That's not to say i haven't liked it here, it's just different then I imagined. I moved down with somewhat of a naive mindset and quickly found myself discouraged due to the talent level that swamps this town. In my opinion Nashville sets the musical bar. Leaning on my guitar strengths i ended up focusing on lead guitar for the majority of my time here, playing with whoever but mostly an amazingly talented duo 'JOHNNYSWIM'. www.johnnyswim.com And now after 4 years and 27 I'm back at giving this singer/songwriter thing another go in a whole new light.

Throughout this year i'd had my mind set on moving to Chicago. This move was being lead by the drive to attempt something different then the typical. Somewhere along the way i seemed to of trapped myself into examining other artist that seem to have it all figured out, and want to replicate their ways. Fortunately as spoken from 'Genie' in the movie 'Aladdin' the phrase "Bee yourself" seemed to continually find its way into my head in one form or another. So that's what I've been trying to do, and for now Chicago is currently on hold.

So here's what's new... I'm currently writing a lot, trying to find my writing style as an artist, hoping to retrieve "the good stuff". I've been co-writing with some incredibly talented writers around town. I now have Sarin and Rebecca Kuruvilla of 'Lightcave Management' as my management and i feel so blessed to have them on board. www.lightcave.com I'm working with the amazing producer Robert Marvin (Mat Kearney, Matt Redman, Britt Nicole). Cant wait to see where he takes these tunes!!! Currently booking for 2010 with the intentions of being on the road for the majority of the year. Some exciting shows/places on the list for next year! Dates to come.

www.willsolomon.com is in the process of being built... I'll keep you up to date on when the new site will post.

Ummmmm...

So yeah, I'm super excited about all the current happenings and can't wait to share my music.

Super excited to share some of my recent stories on here but for now I'm headed back to bed.

God Bless,

Will

Palm Sunday and Tex-Mex

My first blog.
So here's what I'd like to do with this thing..
Tell you guys what's going on. What's new, where I'm at, what's on my mind... and fallow through on something i started a while back ago but stopped, and that is, ask some random questions. Some deep, some not so much.. We'll just call it 'What If?'
Plus I'll throw up some photos and hopefully drawings. I love to draw and don't do it enough, so maybe this will give me an excuse to pick it back up.
Reporting from my hotel room in Dallas Texas.
